Preparation and countdown: the Extravaganza’s coming!

We grandmothers of Oceanside g2g are hard at work.  Our deft fingers are creating candy cane sleighs, Christmas crackers, and wreaths — to name a few!  The fabulous Extravaganza fundraiser is coming next week!  9 days to go….

Remember: you can bring your creations to the Quality Resort Bayside (240 Dogwood St., Parksville) on Thursday, November 27 anytime after 10am to be priced and tagged.  And remind all your friends and neighbours about the times:

Extravaganza. Friday Nov 28, 1-7.  Saturday Nov 29, 10-4

Creativity and teamwork make this annual event a lot of fun to do, and terrifically successful in raising money for our cause.

Final Directory of 2014 now available, also New Members page

If you go to the Members Only page of the Oceanside Grandmothers to Grandmothers website, to the password protected section for Membership and the Directory, you will now find the following documents updated and ready to download:

1.  The Directory, November 19, 2014, small file (1.2 MB).  This is a version that is fast to download, good enough to look at on a computer screen, and adequate/mediocre for printing out.  If you have a slow internet connection, you’ll want this version.

2.  The Directory, November 19, 2014, large file (18.5 MB). This is a version that is slow to download, good on a computer screen, and good for printing out.  If you have a fast internet connection, you’ll probably want this one.  I’m making it available temporarily through a link to my Dropbox.

3. New Members 2014.  This is a single page that gives the photos and names of new members to our group this year. They are all in the Directory with their contact information, but this separate page might help the rest of us to get to know them more quickly.

Our group is friendly and welcoming.  But we all need a bit of help in getting to know each others’ names!

Angel Workshop

On Thursday, Nov. 20 1:00 – 4:00, I would like to hold an angel workshop for the standing angels.
To date, we have a good supply of our reg. angels but need more of the standing angels. At last years Extravaganza, the standing angels were the first to go. I have a good supply of mesh, thanks to Moira for sewing the pieces together.
I will have them all prepared so it will be just a case of dressing them. If you are unable to attend this session, but are able to make them on your own, please let me know. I have a good selection of material, jewellery and ribbons. You just need to bring your glue gun, glue and pinking shears.
You can contact me at jostrow@telus.net.
Thanks, Jacquie
