Book Sale

Many thanks to all the Grandmothers and friends who have so generously donated books for the sale on May 5th. We have a terrific collection of really good books but have now reached the limit of what we can handle – so please don’t bring any more!!! I’ll be able to prepare the ones we have in the time left before the sale but probably not more.
Grandmothers have great taste in books so please come along to the Great Garage Sale at Wembley Mall on the 5th and browse at the book table!!

G2G – Great Garage Sale – May 5th, 2018

So, we’ve now booked 10 spaces for the GREAT GARAGE SALE May 5th sponsored by the RDN

A Used Book Book Sale space will be coordinated by Lorna Reid. To prepare for this space, please contact Lorna 250-951-9680 to drop off books to her house.

We’re looking for extra folding 6’ tables. If you have one to loan please contact Carolyn Dodd – email contact is available in the Directory under the “For Members Only” section of the website.

May 5 Garage and Book Sale

The book table at the May 5 sale is in need of contributions of gently used books (except texts, computer books, National Geographics and Reader’s Digest magazines). Moira Beauchesne and Lorna Reid are willing to pick books up from you or you can bring them to the April general meeting. Time is going by and the books need to be sorted, priced etc which is quite time-consuming so we’d appreciate getting them ASAP!
Thank you

Lorna Reid

Great Garage Sale – May 5th

Hello Grans!  Mark Saturday May 5th on your calendars.  It’s the GREAT GARAGE SALE at Parksville’s Oceanside Place.  Time to Clean Up and Clear Out.

Here’s the Scoop: the idea started with a Spring Trunk Sale, then the discovery.  RDN Parks and Recreation hold an annual indoor Great Garage Sale at the Parksville arena 9 am-1 pm with attendance over 800.  Park and Rec advertises and promotes the event.   Hurrah!

Already 11 Grans would like space.  Contact Carolyn Dodd if you too would like a space.  The clock is ticking to reserve space from the RDN planners.

Moira Beauchesne and Lorna Reid volunteered to coordinate a Book Sale Space: probably, two tables and with one set of shelves, so the emphasis is on `small`.  The plan is to fill tables with contributions from the G2G members rather than a community-wide search for books. It is only a half-day sale and we want few “left-overs” looking for homes.

The book search includes any genre (including children`s), relatively new and in good condition. By the way, those “CDs” are popular too. Bring donations to G2G meetings or give them to Moira or Lorna.  Start Now, their contact information is on our Members’ Directory.
