Behind and in Front of the Camera

May 15th is fast approaching. There are still some tickets left. If you haven’t already done so, please let friends, neighbors and family know that some are still available. I think it is also important to know that this event is for men as well as women.

Also, if you happen to be driving down and have space in your vehicle, or can’t drive down and would like to go, please contact me immediately.

updates to g2g information

On the website you will now find the following:

  • the minutes of our meeting on April 15, 2014, posted on the For members only page, for which you know the password.  The minutes and their accompanying reports can be opened for reading there or downloaded and saved to your own computer.
  • an updated version of the Directory, including new members and any changes of contact information, on the page For members only.  It can be opened there for reading or downloaded and saved to your own computer.  On the opening page of the Directory you will always see the date of the version you have, so that you will know which old copies to discard.  If you would like a print-out, feel free to make one (for g2g use only).
  • a write-up on the bottle drive on the page Past Events 2014, with a wonderful photo of our members who made the day a success.

All of these — communications of achievements, plans for more, and our own collective smiles in photos — give a fine reflection of Oceanside Grandmothers to Grandmothers.

Both Sides of the Camera

Ladies,
In preparation for Both Sides of the Camera, we are looking for a smaller (in diameter) type of bistro table that could be used for staging. Our guests, Rosemary Thompson and Virginia Thompson, will be sitting around the table during the event. We have chairs in a black/brown wicker design but do require a small table that is of bar height. If you have a table that might be appropriate and wouldn’t mind lending it for the night, could you please contact Mary-Anne Slack at slack.ma@gmail.com or 250 752-8242.
Much appreciated!

Bottle Drive

Reminder re Bottle Drive, April 12th.

The bottle drive committee is continuing to advance in its organization for the Drive scheduled for April 12 at Encorp Return-It, 611 Alberni Highway, Parksville.

At the moment they are looking for volunteers — of more than one sort:

  • Do you have teenaged grandkids who wouldn’t mind helping with the physical work of loading and unloading trucks?
  • Are you able to volunteer on April 12 to collect recyclables from the areas we select or help sort them?

Please contact lornareid@shaw.ca  orcadodd@shaw.ca if you are willing to help.   If you volunteer please let us know the street & area in which you live.
