Looking for Information

Hi Everyone,

Several ladies approached me at our last meeting asking if we would be entering the Parksville parade this year. For those of you who are new, we did walk in the parade a number of times but for the past two years we have not. There are a couple of reasons: one was the walk to too long for some of our members and the other was the attempt to get a flatbed truck which didn’t happen. Doreen suggested that perhaps some could walk part way and others could meet in the middle and walk the last half.  If you are interested please let Pam Vest know.(pamela.vest@gmail.com) If we have enough interest, we will pursue it.

Also has anyone been approached to host the Victoria cyclists? Are they in fact doing the tour this year?( lundine.carol@gmail.com)

Thank you,

Carol Lundine

Bottle Drive/Extravaganza Requests

1. The Bottle Brigade is still looking for volunteers to help with our Bottle & Can Drive on May 28th. The event has been reorganised to reduce the workload and streamline the process.
We need help with:
sorting & counting and clean up at our 2 sites – Return-It depot on Alberni Hwy. and Eaglecrest Golf Course
Eaglecrest will be working from 9.45 to 3.00. To sign up contact Carolyn at cadodd@shaw.ca or 250-468-5437 with the hours you are available
Return-It from 9.45 to 4.00. To sign up contact Lorna at lornareid@shaw.ca with the hours you are available
Sheila McConnell is organising the distribution of our advertising flyers to Chartwell and Eaglecrest. She has planned out short routes most can walk without trouble and has packages of flyers and maps.
Since we have cancelled the door-to-door pick up getting the word out is really important so if you can do some deliveries for us please contact Sheila at samcc@shaw.ca or 250-586-4485.
We also need Grannies to take flyers to distribute to your neighbours, friends, clubs etc for flyers contact lornareid@shaw.ca or 250-951-9680.
Please your e-mail to distribute the poster to everyone you know in the area. Word of mouth is a great tool!
Looking forward to another great fundraiser!

2. Looking towards the Extravaganza the Well Preserved Grannies are looking for RHUBARB to make yummy jams, jellies, chutneys etc. If you have a rhubarb patch that is doing well this year and you’d like to share some with us please contact lornareid@shaw.ca.
