Do you need a photo taken for the g2g Directory?

If you have not yet had a photo taken for our Grandmothers to Grandmothers Directory of pictures and contact information, are you available to have one taken in the next couple of weeks?  Out of approximately 130 members, we’re currently missing photos for about 30 people, mainly new members.

We’d like to make sure we include everyone.   The Directory (the photo part of the Handbook) gives members a memory boost when we forget people’s names (as we do!) and way of getting in touch with each other easily for planning g2g events.

If your photo is missing – or if you dislike the photo of yourself already in the old Handbook and would like a replacement – are you free to drop by on any of the photo sessions listed below?  Our g2g photographer Eileen Dombrowski will be loitering in coffee shops at the times listed below over the next two weeks, ready to take your picture quite painlessly.  You’ll recognize her because she’ll be the one dressed in turquoise and holding a little camera.  Let her know (oceansideg2g@shaw.ca) if you’ll be coming, so that if nobody is planning to show up at that time she won’t show up either.

Anyone else from our group is also welcome to join these photo sessions, so that we can chat and sip lattes together as we loiter.  (Just check with Eileen (oceansideg2g@shaw.ca) in advance to make sure that people are going to be there.)

Christmas Extravaganza: Circle November 29 and 30 on your calendar!

Santa’s coming.  Oceanside Grandmothers are getting ready — very, very ready.  The Christmas Extravaganza will offer wonderful crafts and baking for sale and, for everyone attending, a glass of spiced apple cider and a homemade goodie.  Live entertainment will add to the event’s festive atmosphere.  For a sense of the profusion and fun of our annual Christmas Extravaganza, see Past Events for the past several years.

You’ll find the Christmas Extravaganza at the Bayside Quality Resort in Parksville on Friday, November 29 2pm to 7pm and Saturday November 30 10am to 4pm.  Open your piggy bank and go looking for it.  You’ll get some great gifts and holiday treats — and you’ll know that the money will go to an excellent cause.
